We are entering this new year with a new moon in Capricorn, and a partial solar eclipse, also in Capricorn. Layer this over the number four (Emperor) universal energy for the year, and we have some serious power at our disposal!

Working with the Ace of Wands can bring in new ideas, and take you in a completely new career direction.
The esoteric name for the Ace of Cups is the Root of the Powers of Water. Here we are dealing with emotions, and our emotional world. When meditating on this card, ask yourself what makes you happy, what brings you joy. What are you looking for in relationship – with yourself, and with others. What do you need to nurture, within yourself and within others? This is also a card of intuition, creativity, and a connection to dreamtime – a true opening up of the heart.
The esoteric name for the Ace of Swords is the Root of the Powers of Air. Here we are dealing with the mental realm, the world of thought and clarity. It is a card of analysis, and cutting through to the truth. When meditating on this card, ask yourself what you need clarity on. What problems/issues are you facing? Where do you need to make a decision? Along with clear thought comes the necessity for both commitment and action. With the Ace of Swords we bring order to the chaos of our life.
The esoteric name for the Ace of Disks is the Root of the Powers of Earth. Here we are dealing with the physical world, and everything in it. We are talking about the actual “doing” of work, about the manifestation of ideas, about finances, material things, and our “safe place” in life. This is where we find prosperity and security. When meditating with the Ace of Disks, ask yourself where your opportunities are for health and financial security. Look at how you are being recognized/rewarded for your successes.
With each of the Aces, ask yourself the following questions:
- Where do you fit into my life?
- What benefits do you bring me?
- What challenges do you bring me?
- What actions do I need to take in this area of my life?

I personally love the Thoth Ace of Cups card. It reminds me of the beautiful paper from Florence, which always stirs in me a love for art and creativity. All four of these cards manifest dynamic energy- much needed to remain productive when I just feel like hibernating.
